OUR SOVEREIGN PLACE IN HEALTH

We want to hear from bodies and organisations who are leading in their work, and anyone who is working to improve the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and health workforce - to challenge the future.

We are seeking submissions that highlight best practice, evidence-based approaches, local or community-led solutions to address local issues.

There are a limited number of spaces available in the program for a variety of presentation types. Sessions will run concurrently across 3-4 streams. 

Submission deadline extended to 22 August! 

Abstracts can be submitted for Workshop Sessions (either in 60min or 120min formats). 

Please note: Pre- and Post-conference workshops may be negotiated and are still required to submit an abstract. AIDA does NOT cover the venue, audio visual or catering costs associated with these workshops. 

WORKSHOP GUIDELINES

Workshop Abstracts must not exceed a maximum of 500 words, and include: 

• Title
• Introduction 
• Learning Objectives (3-5)
• Method 
• Conclusion
• Include a description of how your workshop will address three learning outcomes (at the end of the workshop participants will be able to…)
• Include a description of how your workshop will engage participants 
• Include a description of how your workshop addresses your chosen sub-theme(s)
• Preference for 60min or 120min format (or either, if adaptable)

WORKSHOP INCLUSIONS

• AIDA will cover venue and day catering costs for registered delegates attending these workshops.  
• Room set up - tables, chairs, power outlets, lectern and microphone, projector and screen are included  
• Additional equipment for the workshops is to be sourced and coordinated by the workshop provider(s). Any costs incurred for this may need to be covered by the workshop provider(s).

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SUBMISSIONS

The submission of an abstract indicates and understanding and acceptance of the following rules for participation in the AIDA Conference 2023.

• The abstract(s) you present is (are) your work and you have the authority to submit the work.
• The abstract(s) should emphasise the significance of the results and/or major evidence-based merits of the presentation.
• Abstracts/presentations that advertise services will not be considered.
• The name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s) will be used in connection with the abstract and, if accepted, the presentation, as provided by you in the abstract submission.
• You confirm having received the prior approval of all co-workers/co-authors to provide the data.
• The author(s) will retain Intellectual Property (IP) of their abstract(s) and, if accepted, their presentation(s), in addition to the moral rights they are entitled to as authors.
• You provide AIDA with permission to use all materials provided in your abstract as per these terms and conditions for AIDA Conference 2023 publications (including online).
• All intellectual property rights in the abstract submission and ensuing presentation remain the property of the author(s).  You grant AIDA a worldwide, non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, distribute, display and store the abstract(s) and, if accepted, the ensuing presentation(s) in all forms (including on the AIDA website), formats and media now known or as developed in the future, including print, electronic and digital forms.  Study data remains the IP of the author(s) and study sponsors as relevant.
• The presenter(s) agree(s) to allow AIDA to use/reproduce their image(s) to promote AIDA, and also provide(s) permission for AIDA to record imagery of the presenter(s) during the conference, and to use these images as per AIDA’s Privacy Policy.
• The author(s) agree(s) to materially confine their presentation(s) to information in the abstract if accepted for presentation. If an author has more than one abstract accepted, each presentation will be materially confined to the information in the abstract selected for the specific session.
• If selected for the program, at least one author will be available in person to provide the presentation ensuing from the abstract at AIDA Conference 2023. Authors will immediately notify the AIDA Secretariat under the contact provided below if they are unable to present, or if the presenter changes.
• The presenting author will be required to register for the conference in order to ensure the abstract of their presentation(s) is (are) included in the final program. All submissions must be completed electronically via the online submission facility and include a high resolution profile image of the presenter(s).
• AIDA reserves the right to remove a presentation from the program.

AIDA will not be held responsible for abstract submissions not received via the website, or for submission errors caused by internet service outages, hardware or software delays, power outages or unforeseen events.
