AIDA FUNDING

AIDA JMO and Student Funding Opportunities

AIDA are delighted to provide funding opportunities for PRIDoC 2024 to eligible AIDA members, however these are limited and not guaranteed to all applicants.

To apply for funding, you must be a current AIDA member and able to take leave from your university or employer. AIDA funding will be prioritised for members attending to receive their graduation or Fellowship stethoscopes, subsequent funding will be allocated through the selection process.

Applicants attending to receive a stethoscope will be required to provide proof of graduation.

If you are a JMO (JMO/PGY1) and not expecting to receive a stethoscope, you may wish to consider other funding opportunities including:
  • Funding opportunities through your university or college, workplace or supporting community organisations.
  • Letters of support can be provided by AIDA when requesting funding from these sources.
TOP TIP: Submit a Poster or Quick and The Deadly abstract to show the reviewers that you are contributing to the 2024 program!

Guidelines

  • In order to be eligible for funding support, students and JMOs (JMO/PGY1) must:
  • Be current member of AIDA.
  • Agree to the Terms and Conditions outlined in the submission process.
  • Provide a Personal Statement (250 words) that outlines how attendance at PRIDoC 2024 will:
    • assist with your medical studies and personal and/or professional development
    • contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health
    • support and encourage future work aspirations
  • Upload a leave approval from your university or employer (if leave approval is not required, please attach your university or work timetable)

  1. Apply for funding via the link on this page. You will be asked to create an account to apply, this is different than your AIDA member portal login.
  2. You will first need to set up your account and complete pre-registration to continue the application process. You will be asked to provide card details to assist us in booking you a room, should you be successful. No money will be taken from this card - it is a guarantee only, and will be provided to the hotel (in the event of your application being successful) to cover additional nights and incidental charges.
  3. Complete an application and provide a 250-word statement and other required documents - such as leave approval confirmation and graduation certificate. If you have not recently graduated you must provide proof of enrolment in your current program.
  4. Applications will be assessed and short-listed, then progress in the selection process for approval.
